According to Apple, Siri will utilize ChatGPT’s expertise to provide answers to complex requests, such as generating menu ideas using specific ingredients, with user permission. The integration would allow iPhone users to ask questions with images via Siri, ask questions related to documents and PDFs and generate content with images.
Additionally, Apple’s writing tools will be powered by ChatGPT, allowing users to generate text, receive suggestions, and improve their writing across multiple Apple devices and applications.
The ChatGPT integration, which is powered by GPT4-o, will only be available for free on iOS18, iPadOS18, and macOs Sequoia. However, paid features within Siri and other Apple apps that are integrated with ChatGPT will be available to ChatGPT Premium subscribers only. The integration also has privacy protection in place to guarantee that users’ IP addresses are hidden and that requests are not saved by Open AI.
