The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced a two-day extension for the limited voter registration exercise that was initially supposed to end on May 27.
The exercise would now end on Wednesday, May 29, the EC said in a statement.
“This arrangement has been put in place to make up for the network challenges experienced during the first two (2) days of the Registration Exercise,” the statement explained.

Earlier there had been concerns from the New Force leader, Nana Kwame Bediako, who petitioned the EC to extend the deadline as the initial timeline was inadequate.
Later, on Friday, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) also added its voice to calls for a deadline extension.
Since the exercise began on May 7, it’s been marred by various challenges – from network challenges to issues of transparency.
