Martha Ankomah Reveals She Has Never Met LilWin Despite Legal Battles

Despite their highly publicized legal disputes and controversies, award-winning Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah has revealed that she has never met co-actor LilWin, in person.

In a recent interview on Accra 100.5 FM, Martha Ankomah revealed that she and LilWin have never crossed paths. However,  she claimed that LilWin reached out to her on April 27, 2019, at 10:38 AM, to request her help in securing a deal with GTP to print uniforms for his school (Great Minds International).

“Before God and man, I have not met Lil Win physically. The only time I spoke to him was when he called me on the phone for a favour. You know the iPhone keeps records. He wanted GTP to print school uniforms for his school. And he said that when he spoke about this to people, he was told that I was the GTP brand ambassador. The very GTP he insulted me with,” she said.

Martha Ankomah explained that LilWin later called her to express his gratitude after she, in her capacity as a brand ambassador for GTP textiles at the time, made a phone call to GTP on his behalf.

“God being so good, I spoke to GTP. I don’t know if he went to see them or not. But, if Lil Win, would speak the truth, he reached out to thank me, afterwards,” Martha noted.

She further stated that she had assured LilWin that he would receive a favorable deal and encouraged him to reach out to her if he required any additional help or support.

“I also sent him a number for him to call, adding that they had assured he would be given a good deal. I asked him to reach out to me in case he needed further assistance. That’s the only time I ever spoke to LilWin. I’ve not seen him physically before.”

A GHS5 million defamation lawsuit filed by Martha Ankomah against LilWin on February 14, 2024, went viral online, stemming from defamatory comments made by LilWin about Martha Ankomah. The case is still pending in court with a scheduled hearing in October, 2024.

Martha Ankomah’s rise to fame in the Ghanaian film industry began after she finished third in the 2007 edition of the Next Movie Star competition. She has since become a household name, starring in a wide range of films and television series, including Suncity, Honeymoon Hotel, Power of the Gods, Shakira, Sin of the Soul, Heart of Men, and Somewhere in Africa, among other films.
