MUSIGA Renews SIC-Life Insurance Coverage for Members

General Secretary of MUSIGA revealed that the policy serves as a shield to block unforeseen financial difficulties, accidents, and losses and urged all members and musicians to partake in ensuring themselves with the policy.

The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has urged members affiliated with the union to subscribe to the MUSIGA SIC-Life Insurance scheme.

Renewing the welfare policy with the insurance company for the third year since the partnership launched in 2021,  Bessa Simons entreated members to sign up with MUSIGA SIC-Life Insurance in order to benefit from its protective policies.

According to him, accidents can happen at any point in time when they are least expected, hence the need for members to register so they can be relieved in times of uncertainty.

Andrew Adu-Asante of SIC-Life’s Corporate Group Business Department commended MUSIGA for launching an initiative that benefits the interests of all union affiliates. Other representatives present at the event included Elliot Botchway and Alfred Codjoe from the Corporate Group Business Department and Ampem Loretta Yamnobiya Anafu and Mary-Joan Acheampomaa from the Group Underwriting Department.

SIC Life first partnered with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) for a comprehensive Group Life Insurance Policy for members of the Union, on May 5, 2021, at the MUSIGA secretariat in Accra.

The initiative was initially launched as a safety net for veteran musicians or members who may face financial difficulties in their old age, to prevent them from soliciting funds from the public when they fall ill and are unable to foot their medical bills.
