NIA Increases Fees For Ghana Card Services From May 1

The decision, according to the NIA, is in line with the provisions outlined in the 'Fees and Charges' (Miscellaneous Provision Regulations, 2023) L.I. 2481.

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced new fees for some of its Ghana Card registration services effective Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

The decision, according to the NIA, is in line with the provisions outlined in the ‘Fees and Charges’ (Miscellaneous Provision Regulations, 2023) L.I. 2481.

The new fees affect premium services for card registration, card replacement, and records update, which before the new hikes were GHC 280, GHC 110, and GHC 34 respectively.

Previously the NIA had faced criticism for those charges, as some had called the fees charged for the premium services especially, as outrageous. With the upward adjustments now, it won’t be long before Ghanaians without the card show displeasure.
