A District Court at Nkawkaw has convicted Ayivor Elikplim, an operations manager of Multi Credit Savings and Loans for assaulting a female employee.
The incident first went viral on social media, with a video showing Elikplim brazenly beating up the victim, Martha Adutwumwaa, a mobile banker. According to reports, it started as an argument over Martha’s failure to account for GHC 90.

“I told him I don’t have money on me so will pay it later. I don’t have any grudge with him. During the altercation, we exchanged insults. He accused me of being a witch. He told me he can make me bedridden, which I challenged him on, and that made him very angry. He beat me several times. I went to the hospital, I was treated and discharged,” she narrated.
At a court hearing today, Elikplim pleaded guilty to charges of assault, but he will remain in police custody as the court deferred its ruling to July 2.
