Sacking of SSNIT Boss Had Nothing to Do With Misconduct or Malfeasance, Says Presidency

The Office of the President has said the termination of the appointment of Dr. Ofori Tenkorang, the Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) was not due to misconduct or malfeasance.

In a statement today, April 13, and signed by Eugene Arhin, the Communications Director at the Jubilee House, the Presidency said it was setting records straight following “speculations” about the exit of Dr. Tenkorang.

“Dr. Ofori Tenkorang’s exit from office is part of the ongoing restructuring of the Government being undertaken by President Akufo-Addo. The President is satisfied with the performance of Dr. Ofori Tenkorang as Director-General of SSNIT in the past seven years,” the statement said.
