What began as a heated argument between two Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) officials and the security wardens at the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority (GPHA) at Meridian Port Services quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
A video shared on social media captured the heated argument between the two groups at the Tema Port.
Authorities have commenced an investigation, The Accra Times has learned, following a thorough examination of the video evidence
it is said that things got heated when a group of GPHA security wardens at the MPS entered the GIS office and attacked two of their officers (a male and female) after a confrontation in the course of a routine check of the vessel on the MSC DYMPHNA at the Tema Port.

The disagreement emerged regarding GPHA security’s search procedures after completing their tasks at the Tema Port and demanded to search of the office of the immigration officers.
But the GIS inspector opposed them, citing that while bag searches were allowed, body searches of female officers, particularly by male security staff, were not permissible under any circumstances.
In the chaos, AICO II Boadu’s uniform got torn during the physical fisticuffs.
