Wizkid, Davido Ignite Feud on Social Media

Wizkid and Davido, two of Nigeria's Afrobeats superstars, recently exchanged public words on X (formerly Twitter), with each claiming superiority over the other in the music industry.

Wizkid and Davido, two of Nigeria’s Afrobeats superstars, recently exchanged public words on X (formerly Twitter), with each claiming superiority over the other in the music industry.

The encounter began when a fan asked Wizkid to release a new song before releasing his upcoming album “Morayo”.

Wizkid responded with the infamous leaked video of Davido in tears begging an unknown person – implying that said fan should plead as hard for a new song as Davido did in the leaked video.

Wizkid’s reply sparked a frenzy among the fan base of the two artists ( 30 Billion Gang and Wizkid F.C ).

On Monday night [April 29th], Davido clapped back at Wizkid, and called him a sick man, moments after Wizkid called Davido’s fans (30 Billion gang) delusional.

Wizkid responded to Davido’s comments once again with the leaked video, but Davido retorted by calling Wizkid unworthy of his time.

“That’s what I thought. Nothing to say, exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardising my millions of USD of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again,” Davido said.

The feud between the two artists dates back to 2011 when both became poster boys for Nigerian music.

In an interview, the two explain the genesis of the feud existing between them.

However, in 2017, it appeared both artists reconciled during Wizkid’s concert at Lagos’ Eko Convention Centre. To the delight of the audience, Wizkid took the initiative and invited Davido to share the stage and spotlight with him.
