According to the prosecution, the case involves Khori Edward Lewis, an American musician and citizen, who visited Ghana in May 2023 with his family. Lewis was introduced to Mr. Logic by Monica Spence, who claimed to be working under Mr. Logic’s management.

The prosecution alleges that Mr. Logic offered to secure a resident permit for Lewis, allowing him to live and work in Ghana, for a sum of $21,000. The accused demanded another sum of GH¢48,000 for taxes payable to the government.

Prosecutors further said Mr. Lewis conducted his own investigation and discovered that the transaction was fraudulent. On May 11, 2024, the complainant filed a police report, and the accused was subsequently invited multiple times by the police to assist in the investigation, but he failed to respond or cooperate.

The prosecution revealed that further investigations with the Ghana Immigration Service showed that the actual cost of the resident permit was $1,000 per person, contrary to the amount charged by the accused. The prosecutor added that a summons was subsequently prepared and served on the accused, requiring him to appear in court.
