A 4.8 magnitude earthquake shook buildings in New York City and surrounding areas on Friday morning.
US media report that the tremor occurred at about 10:20 am Friday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
Residents in the area also reported that the tremor shook their furniture and floors. No major disruptions have been reported in both New York City and New Jersey so far.
