ADAEKESE: Tricycles, Aboboyaa Banned At Manhyia Palace on May 12

This is to give dignitaries attending the Adaekese easy passage to the Palace.

Tricycles, aka Pragia, and their cousins Aboboyaa, are banned from the Manhyia Palace vicinity on Sunday, May 12, 2024, according to a release from the Manhyia Palace.

The release informed the general public that all roads leading to the Manhyia Palace would be blocked to the public on Sunday 12, 2024, and that only vehicles with the appropriate stickers would be allowed access to those roads.

“This is to give dignitaries attending the Adaekese easy passage to the Palace”, the release dated May 11, 2024, said.

Early on May 9, 2024, Juabenhene, Nana Otuo Sereboe II, addressing the media directed riders of tricycles and Aboboyaa to take a holiday on May 12, to bring sanity to the roads and streets for the many expected guests.

“Tricycle riders are entreated to take rest on Sunday. We don’t want any casualties. It’s a joyous day and we wouldn’t want any casualty. These vehicles would not be allowed to operate in the Kumasi metropolis”, he said.

Additionally, Nana Otuo Sereboe announced a ban on black and politically branded outfits, the carrying of guns, and, fireworks activities within the precincts of the Palace.
