Adejumoke Aderounmu of Jenifa’s Diary dies at 40

The cause of her death was yet to be made public as of the time of filing this report. However, a funeral service has since been held for Aderounmu Adejumoke at Owu Baptist Church, Totoro area of Abeokuta in Ogun State.

Nollywood actress, Adejumoke Aderounmu, popularly known for her role as “Esther” in Funke Akindele’s popular TV series Jenifa’s Diary, is dead.

Adeola Aderounmu, the brother of the actress, announced her passing through a cryptic post on Instagram captioned, “You are in a better place now, my sister,” with Aderounmu’s obituary photo.

The cause of her death was yet to be made public as of the time of filing this report. However, a funeral service has since been held for Aderounmu Adejumoke at Owu Baptist Church, Totoro area of Abeokuta in Ogun State.

Aderounmu started her professional acting career in the movie “Arugba,” produced by Tunde Kelani in 2008. Her breakthrough role came in 2016 when she was cast as Esther in “Jenifa’s Diary.” Her portrayal of the feisty and determined Esther showcased her versatility as an actress, earning her widespread acclaim and a place in viewers’ hearts.

She also worked as a presenter and, at one time, produced her show, “The Lounge with Jumoke.”
