NPP Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin will be replacing his party’s leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu as part of new arrangements in the Party’s Parliamentary leadership, many reports have said.
Other party MPs who would be taking new roles include Frank Annoh Dompreh, the present Majority Chief Whip who may likely become Deputy Majority Leader. His former position would likely be taken by Habib Iddrisu, the current First Deputy Chief Whip, the reports said.
These new arrangements are expected to be announced later today by the NPP’s National Council, which would also be meeting to unveil flagbearer Bawumia’s campaign team ahead of the December polls.
Kyei-Mensa Bonsu who already had mentioned before that he would be taking his last bow from Parliamentary duties would be named Chairman of the NPP’s 2024 Manifesto Committee, the reports added.
