As several people are calling for President Akufo-Addo to declare his stance on LGBTQI issues in Ghana, the Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has revealed on Joy FM that President Akufo-Addo had ordered for the closure of the LGBTQ office recently opened in Accra.
Mr. Foh Amoaning is one of the front-line advocates against the rights of such groups in Ghana.
Yen.com.gh reports that Foh Amoaning has indicated in Joy News program that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo already rejects homosexuality in Ghana and that his position was made clear through the minister-designate for Children and social protection, Adwoa Sarfo.
Meanwhile, speaking on TV3, Alex Kofi Donkor, the director of LGBTQI Rights in Ghana, has lamented the attack on LGBTQI persons stating that many fear to seek justice let alone report abuses with the police.

“ Many are being attacked for being gay. Because society speaks against it, many are attacking us with impunity. The more reason we must treat these matters as human rights issues,” he stated.
The issue of LGBTQI became a public conversation once again after the group launched an office in Accra about two weeks ago. The opening of the office which is rumoured to be situated in Tesano was attended by some high profile personalities including the Australian Ambassador to Ghana and the European Representative to Ghana.
