The song, released as a single from Amaarae’s debut album, “The Angel You Do not Know” surpassed 1 million certified units in sales and streams.

The Afropop track gained massive recognition on TikTok, after the remix with American-based singer, Kali Uchis, was released in 2021.
The song topped several international charts peaking at number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Amaarae joins Libianca, Moliy, Tems and Tyla as African female acts with platinum-certified songs in the US. Ama Serwaa Genfi, popularly known as Amaarae, is a Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter.
She is well-known for her alte and Afropop music. She gained mainstream recognition after she released her debut E.P “Passionfruit Summers” in 2017.
