Kwesi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the current member of parliament for Sunyani East has been endorsed again by the electoral college of the NPP in the Sunyani East Constituency ahead of the general elections in 2024
This would be the 5th time the board chairman of Bui Power Authority has been voted for to represent the New Patriotic Party in that regard. Asaase Radio reports that, the board chairman polled 460 votes while Ambasador George Kumi, his opponent, polled 339 out of 800 total valid votes cast.
The New Patriotic Party originally scheduled the party’s parliamentary candidacy elections for January 27th of 2022, however, certain internal misunderstanding necessitated a postponement of elections in the Sunyani East Constituency.
If Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh wins the 2024 Parliamentary Elections, he’d be the longest serving member of parliament for the constituency.
