Asanteman, Zongo Development Chief Gift Otumfuo White Horse for 25th Anniversary

At the presentation ceremony, Nana Osei Kwame Kyeretwie commended the Asantehene for his distinguished statesmanship that has brought peace and cohesion among the different tribes in Asanteman.

Asanteman Nkosuohene, Nana Osei Kwame Kyeretwie and Zongo Nkosuohene, Alhaji Abdullai Ali Barry, have presented a white horse as a gift to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as part of his 25th anniversary celebrations on the Golden Stool.

At the presentation ceremony, Nana Osei Kwame Kyeretwie commended the Asantehene for his distinguished statesmanship, bringing peace and cohesion among the tribes in Asanteman.

“White signifies joy and that is exactly what we wish for the King. This is historic. No one has gifted something like this to the Asantehene before. The flag covering the horse signifies our love for Asanteman,” he said.

On April 26, 1999, hundreds of people gathered at the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi, the seat of Asanteman, to witness the enstoolment of Barima Kwaku Duah as the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool with the stool name Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
