Asanteman Europe Association Launches Festival In Kumasi

The 16 Asanteman member unions according to her, are based in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Austria, Spain, Germany, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland and The Netherlands

Asanteman Europe Association (AEA), a 16-member Asante Association spread across 12 European countries, is set to hold a grand festival in Germany.

The AEA launched the festival at the Kumasi Center for National Culture, on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Nana Akyiaa Oyiakwan, Queen Mother of Asantes in Switzerland, at the launch, said the Association is ready to sell Asante culture to the whole world

“Dubbed Asante Europe Afahye, Dusseldorf 2024, the festival celebrates the vibrancy and uniqueness of our community”, she stated.

She disclosed that the AEA will take advantage of the festival and portray the rich Asante Culture to other European communities.

Nana Akyiaa Oyiakwan stressed the importance of the Asanteman Europe Association, adding that it serves as a beacon of hope for Asantes who are spread worldwide.

She revealed that the Asanteman Europe Association consists of a 16-member Asante Association spread across 12 European countries.

Speaking at the occasion, Hon Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, was full of praise for the Association for upholding the Asante culture in Europe.

He urged them to let others know that Asante foods, with their high nutritious values,  are good for those working in Europe.
