Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has disclosed a long list of party members [numbering more than 40) who are joining him to plan campaign strategies for the general elections later in December.
The announcement was made at a meeting with the party’s National Council and Executive Committee at the Alisa Hotel on Monday evening.
Sitting on top of that list as Advisors are President Nana Akufo-Addo, Ex-President John Kuffour, former National Chairman, Freddy Blay, former politician under Rawling’s PNDC regime, Rev Joyce Aryee, politician and former Editor at the Daily Graphic, Elizabeth Ohene, Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare as well as the party’s elders.
Former local government minister, Dan Botwe, who recently was relieved of his duties as Minister in last week’s cabinet reshuffling, would be presiding over Bawumia’s campaign affairs.

Dan Botwe’s add to the team appears to be an inevitable choice as he is touted as an excellent strategist – given that as General Secretary in 2000, he helped secure a win for the party against the NDC, during the outset of the Fourth Republic. Two years ago, he was appointed alongside Communications Director Richard Ahiagbah, as a Director of Campaign Strategy, to help the party “Break the Eight”, a slogan that has come to define the party’s hope of a continuous win beyond the two terms voting pattern of citizens.
Mr. Botwe is assisted by former First National Vice Chairman of the party, Fred Oware, and Nana Akomea, the current Spokesperson of Bawumia.
But Bawumia’s campaign would be managed particularly by Frederick Opare-Ansah, a staunch party faithful and four-time Member of Parliament for Suhum. He is assisted by Dr. Antoinette Tsibu-Darko, an Executive Director of the party’s think-tank; the Danquah Institute. Others, Osei Bonsu Amoah and Dr. Ibrahim Anyars join Tsibu-Darko in that deputized role.
