The Komla Dumor Award was established in honour of veteran Ghanaian journalist, and BBC World News Presenter, Komla Dumor, who died suddenly at the age of 41 in 2014.
“The judges praised Bulle for her resilience in tackling challenging stories, her commitment to amplifying under-represented voices, and her strong presence on air,” the BBC wrote.
Commenting, Bulle said, “winning this award is incredibly meaningful to me. As journalists, we strive to do our best without expecting recognition, so being acknowledged on a global platform through the Komla Dumor Award is deeply rewarding.”
As part of her award, Bulle will spend three months working with BBC News teams in London, gaining experience across television, radio, and online platforms. She will also receive mentorship from leading BBC journalists and travel to an African country to produce a story that will be broadcast to the BBC’s global audience.
