Belgian Spokesperson for the ‘New Force’ Repatriated

Belgian Spokesperson for emerging political movement, the ‘New Force’ has been repatriated following the revocation of her residential permit.

Ms. Shalimar Abbiusi was put before an Accra court and accused by immigration officials of forging records to acquire a residential permit in Ghana.

At a sitting on Tuesday, prosecutors dropped the charges and re-arrested her, saying her continuous stay in the country is illegal.

“I picked information that sometime last night, she was being escorted to board the Brussels Airline to Belgium. But clearly, this is so shameful and disgraceful.

“Because she was not deported from Ghana and there was no deportation order by the Minister but an Executive Instrument. So holding her and even denying her access to her lawyers and even her Family and escorting her with men in uniform was a violation,” Mr. Sosu said in an interview with Citi FM.

The parents of Ms. Abbiusi are currently residing in Ghana but it is unclear whether there are issues with their stay as well.
