For years now, veteran actors in Ghana have been missing in action on the big screens, leaving fans to ponder over the reason for their disappearance.
But film lovers are not the only people who are bothered about the situation. In an Instagram post, Ghanaian actress, Beverly Afaglo Baah, quizzed Ghanaian filmmakers and directors about their marginalization of older actors in new film projects.
“How many of the old faces do you producers and directors cast anyway? 80% ain’t working. What is going on? Shoutout to all the producers holding us down. The industry needs you. Keep going,” she wrote.
Noting that she had only starred in only two films this year, the actress beckoned directors to contact her for more roles, touting her versatility but also asking if they could afford to pay her.
