A Canada-based Travel and Tours Operator, Nana Osei Bonsu, has submitted his nomination forms to run for the flagbearer position in the National Democratic Party (NDP) presidential primaries.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDP, Nana Aduse Poku Agyemang, filed the forms on his behalf at the party’s headquarters in Kokomlemle, Accra, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Some party supporters were present to offer solidarity to the Canadian-based politician during the submission of his forms.
The General Secretary of the National Democratic Party, Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong, received the forms, in the presence of other National Executives.
Nana Osei Bonsu is the third candidate to file his nomination forms after the close of nominations on Tuesday. The NDP flagbearer primaries have become necessary following the decision of the Party’s Founder and Leader, Dr Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, not to contest the 2024 presidential elections.

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings contested the presidential elections in 2012, 2016, and 2020 after leaving the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to form her own party.
Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong expressed delight on behalf of the founder and fellow NEC members that Nana Osei Bonsu has successfully filed his forms.
According to him, all forms would be scrutinized carefully before the vetting process, which would take place on a date to be announced, and advised the aspirants to remain calm as their forms were being critically examined.
“Nana Osei Bonsu is the best candidate to challenge the corrupt New Patriotic Party (NPP) government. He is the only candidate who can break the duopoly of the NPP and NDC, who have failed the citizenry with their corrupt governments”, Nana Aduse Poku Agyemang said at a media encounter.
