Member of Parliament for Tema West, Carlos Ahenkorah, has explained why he snatched ballot papers from Marshalls of Parliament while counting was underway for the speaker of Ghana’s 8th parliament.
In a viral video, Mr. Carlos Ahenkorah was seeing snatching uncounted ballot papers during the process to elect the Speaker of Parliament. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislator came under the spotlight and received several criticisms.
In an interview on UTV’s Adekye Nsoroma on Friday, January 8 2020, Mr. Ahenkorah said he was heartbroken by the turn of events, adding that he did it for the grassroots and the President knowing that some two people withing them had decided to go against the party.
He further added that the media has refused to see all the wrongful acts of the opposition National Democratic Congress after some of their Members of Parliament namely Abu Jinapor, Muntaka Mubarak and Sam George kicked ballot boxes and booths while the election was ongoing.

According to the Tema West MP, his party will take further action.
