The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has resigned from her position.
Her resignation comes after several media reports on Friday, July 21 which indicated that she was involved in a legal dispute with her household staff, who were accused of stealing $1 million, €300,000, and millions of Ghanaian cedis from her residence in Abelenkpe, Accra, in October 2022. As a result of these developments, she has tendered her resignation from her position as Minister.
In her letter dated July 22, the minister said her resignation has become necessary in order to shield government work from being preoccupied with the controversies.
