The Mepe community in the Volta Region now boasts of a state-of-the-art health centre.
Following the Akosombo and Kpong dams spillage in October 2023, health authorities cautioned that the affected settlements were exposed to numerous health problems.
The Community Health-based Planning Services (CHPS) compound in Mepe was submerged in the flood waters prompting the Ghana Chamber of Mines together with Citi FM/TV Foundation to build the people of the community new facility
Speaking at its opening ceremony, the President of Ghana Chamber of Mines, Joshua Mortorti disclosed that GHC 1.5 million was spent in building the health centre.

The project consists of male and female wards, an outpatient department (OPD), a laboratory, maternity and delivery rooms, diagnosis rooms, sanitary rooms and a staff bungalow.
Additionally, the Chamber has provided GHC400,000 for the construction of a 10-unit toilet facility for the community.
Mankrado of Mepe, Togbe Kosi Nego VI, expressed gratitude to the Ghana Chamber of Mines and Citi Fm/TV Foundation for providing the community with the facility and promised to ensure a good maintenance culture to prolong its life span.
