For Real Madrid, the second half proved to be a turning point in the match as manager Carlo Ancelotti altered his team’s strategy, giving them the advantage and the ability to win.  Following a corner kick by Toni Kroos that Dani Carvajal headed into the Dortmund goal, Madrid took the lead in the 74th minute of action.

After a few missed chances from Vinicius Jr, who was mostly out-pacing the Dortmund defenders with his fast-paced dribbles,  Real Madrid added another goal to seal their victory. The goal came after Jude Bellingham intercepted a pass from Dortmund’s Ian Maatsen, and laid a pass to Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian speedster who was on the run with the ball quickly slid home Madrid’s second goal in the 83rd minute to silence the loud Dortmund fans.
