China to donate $30m more to WHO

The Chinese government is set to donate $30 million more to WHO to support the organization’s operations especially in this era of the coronavirus pandemic.

The donation comes days after the US suspended funding to the WHO for allegedly mismanaging the COVID-19 outbreak.

Meanwhile, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) says there are “worrying upward trends” in early epidemics in parts of Africa and Central and South America, warning that the “virus will be with us for a long time”.
