Dance Star Afronitaaa quits DWP Academy

Ghanaian dancing star Yeboah Danita Akosua Adomaah, widely known as Afronita has parted ways with her dancing group, DWP Academy.

The news of her exit was shared in a statement by the Academy on Monday.

“It was a tough decision to let Afronitaaa go but her move is in line with the mission of Dance with a Purpose (DWP) Academy: to build brands out of all young and gifted individuals who join the family,” the group said.

Her exit would not be the first time a popular member of the dancing team has left. In September 2022, co-founder of the Academy, Dancegod Lloyd severed ties amid rumors of internal wrangling. It’s unsure yet if Afronitaaa’s exit is linked to any such controversies.

Having started as a music school, DWP has evolved over time into a dancing group offering services to artistes doing dance trends with new music releases. Some of their big clients have been Beyonce, in her 2019 Black is King Album, which brought with it new hype for the crew.

In 2021, the group performed alongside Usher on the Global Citizen Festival stage in Accra.
