Deputy Minister for Finance and MP for Ejisu, John Kumah has passed on, according to a report from Asaase Radio.
“John Kumah, a deputy minister for Finance has reportedly died, a source close to the family has confirmed,” the report by Asaase News said.
The circumstances surrounding the Minister’s death are yet unknown, as his family is yet to make a statement. However, unconfirmed reports say the Minister had been battling for his life since November 2023. The sources indicated that he was due for surgery in Germany this week.
The 45-year-old was appointed in 2021 by President Nana Akufo-Addo as deputy finance minister.

Before he was appointed Minister, Kumah served as chief executive officer for the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) in 2018.
In Parliament, he served as Vice-chairman of the constitutional, legal, and parliamentary affairs Committee of the 8th Parliament, as well as other subsidiary legislation committees.
He was also a lawyer and managing partner at Aduaprokye Chambers.
