The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set Saturday, April 13, 2024, for a parliamentary primary to select a candidate for the Ejisu constituency, which has been left vacant by the untimely passing of John Ampontuah Kumah, who served as both the Member of Parliament and Deputy Finance Minister.
In a statement, the party has outlined a timeline, commencing with a three-day window from Tuesday, April 2, to Thursday, April 4, 2024, for interested aspirants to purchase and file nominations at the constituency party office.
Aspiring parliamentary candidates must purchase nomination forms upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of GHȼ3,000 in bankers draft, payable to the New Patriotic Party National Headquarters in Accra.
However, the statement noted that women, youth (individuals aged between 18 and 40 years), and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) are eligible for a 50% rebate on the filing fees, requiring them to pay GHȼ17,500 instead.
