Elections 2024: Bawumia Drops in Momentum in Ashanti Region, But Still Leads in Race

New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia seems to have lost some momentum in the Ashanti Region, (his party’s stronghold), although he still leads by an overwhelming majority.

According to the latest Ashanti Regional opinion poll by Global Info Analytics, Bawumia dropped eight places from his previous lead of 73% in the July 4, 2024 poll.

“On comparative basis, 73% of voters in 2020 voted for Nana/Bawumia ticket while 25% voted for Mahama/Jane ticket, suggesting that while Mahama/Jane are largely unchanged compared to 2024, DMB/Prempeh has dropped 8% and others have dropped to 1%,” the report said.
