The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it would open nominations for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections starting Friday, August 2 until September 13.
“Candidates vying for the position of President will be required to make a payment of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH0 100,000.00) at the time of submitting their Nomination Forms,” it said in a statement on Thursday, outlining procedures for the exercise.
Female candidates and persons with disabilities are required to pay GHc 75,000 for nominations.
Already many have expressed intentions to contest the polls – from major bigwigs like the NPP and NDC candidates to smaller parties, and then independent candidates.
