Elections 2024: I will be more accountable to the people of Ghana than John Mahama – Bawumia

The first-time presidential aspirant, made this known when he was speaking at an NPP International Conference which was organized in Johannesburg South Africa over the weekend.

Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured Ghanaians of his utmost accountability if elected as president.

The first-time presidential aspirant made this known when he was speaking at an NPP International Conference which was organized in Johannesburg South Africa over the weekend.

He explained that unlike Mahama who was once a president and won’t need a re-election, he on the other hand has everything to lose and would need to be far more accountable.

“Apart from my proven track record as Vice President, hard work, credibility, and vision for the future of Ghana, another reason I should be voted for is that I will be more accountable to the people of Ghana than John Mahama,” he said.

“As President, I will be more accountable because I will have another opportunity to seek the mandate of the people. Mahama has just one term, and he won’t return to Ghanaians to seek re-election, so he won’t be as accountable,” Dr. Bawumia said.

The Vice President also paraded his proven track record to the diaspora audience gathered, touting his anti-corruption crusade alongside the innovative policies he’s outlined since becoming Vice President – such as the national identity system and the mobile money interoperability.

“Ghana needs problem solvers, generational thinkers and people with innovative ideas,” he said. “I am a problem solver and a generational thinker with innovative ideas. I have a solid track record as Vice-President to prove it.”
