Family of Late Team Eternity Singer Nhyira Marfo Okyere Dispels Poisoning Rumours

The family of the late Nhyira Marfo Okyere,  who was a member of the gospel music group, Team Eternity Ghana, has refuted the speculations surrounding the cause of the singer’s death.

Following her tragic death on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, rumors circulating on social media claimed that Nhyira Marfo Okyere, died after allegedly suffering from food poisoning, which supposedly caused her to vomit blood before succumbing to death. 

However, in a statement released on August 13, 2024, the singer’s family categorically denied the circulating rumors that suggested Nhyira Marfo Okyere was poisoned.

“We have become aware of certain speculations circulating on social media regarding the cause of Nhyira’s death, including claims of poisoning and other unsubstantiated rumours. We wish to categorically state that these claims are completely untrue and unfounded,” the statement read.

The family’s statement clarified that the cause of death is still unknown and urged the public to stop spreading false rumors about Nhyira’s passing.

“The cause of Nhyira’s death has not been ascertained yet, and we urge everyone to refrain from spreading false information. We appeal to bloggers and social media to respect our privacy and wait for the final confirmation from relevant authorities before sharing any information,” excerpts of the statement read.

“We are deeply distressed by the spread of these false rumors and the harm they are causing to our family and loved ones. We appeal to everyone to be responsible and respectful in their communication,” the statement further added.
