Free And Fair Elections Not Negotiable – Akufo-Addo

He gave the assurance at a joint press conference with the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, who is on a three-day state visit to Ghana, at the the Jubilee House in Accra.

President Akufo-Addo has stated that his administration will ensure that it sets impeccable conditions in place in the country for the upcoming December 7 elections to enable the people of Ghana to choose their preferred leader for the four years ahead after his term of office expires on January 7, 2025.

He also extended the assurance of free and fair elections, to all of Ghana’s European partners, noting that his government will do everything within its mandate to make sure that the country’s enviable democratic credentials are maintained and improved after the  December 7 general election.

“This December, we are going to have the 9th presidential and parliamentary elections of the 4th Republic of Ghana and I want to assure you and through you, all our friends in Europe that we as a government led by me will make sure that the conditions of the elections are impeccable, that we have transparent, free, credible elections in Ghana to give the Ghanaian people the opportunity and the right to choose who will be their leader four years from now,” he emphasized.
