The Ghana National Gas Company, in partnership with the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), has inaugurated limited mechanized water supply projects in several communities across the Central and Eastern regions.
These projects aim to provide residents access to clean and safe drinking water. Beneficiary communities include Assin Amoakrom in the Assin-North District, Otsenkorang in the Agona-West District, and others such as Obohen, Odumasi, Abowinum, Badukrom, Okuadze, and Nkwantakesedo.
Other communities in the Eastern Region, like Addo-Nkwanta and Pupuni, will benefit, serving around 3,800 people.
In total, approximately 11,315 individuals across the Eastern and Central regions will have access to clean water.

Chief Executive Officer of CWSA, Aloysius Adjetey, commended the Ghana National Gas Company for providing GH¢2 million to complete these crucial projects in various communities.
“Since the establishment of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency, access to water supply in rural communities and small towns in Ghana has improved across the country through partnership and donor support,” he said. “Community Water and Sanitation Agency, in its quest to ensure the sustainability of the water schemes, has mandated nearby water staff to provide oversight responsibilities for sustainable management of the facility.”
Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District Chief Executive (DCE), Willi Evans Obiri Awuah, praised the contributions of both the Ghana National Gas Company and the Community Water and Sanitation Agency in delivering clean water to communities in the Eastern and Central regions.
“We promise to protect, maintain, and ensure the cleanliness of these facilities for many years to come,” he assured.
The manager of the CSR Department at Ghana National Gas Anyimah Edomgbole expressed the company’s dedication to providing clean water and sanitation to the people of Ghana. Additionally, they pledged support for sports, education, and health initiatives nationwide.
The event was attended by local chiefs, traditional leaders, Queenmother of Odumasi Obaahemaa Ntifuah, as well as prominent figures like Very Rev. G. G Arkhurt of the Methodist Church and Dr. Ato Quansah of the Regional Coordinating Council.
