Ghana Records 13 COVID-19 Cases in 3 Senior High Schools

Ghana has so far recorded 13 confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in the country.

The 13 cases, according to the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Michael Nsowa were recorded in 3 different schools across the country.

In an interview on UTV monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com, Dr Nsowah said the affected victims have been isolated for treatment.

The schools, the Director General said include Accra Girls SHS which has the highest number of cases being six.

He said cases have been recorded in Konongo and another school.

The Director General further said he does not see the sense in the call by the Minority in Parliament for schools to be closed down because of the confirmed cases.

“Health workers have died from the disease and Graphic even reported this so why are you calling for the closure of the hospitals as well…?,” he queried.

To him, the situation is under control because Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) have been supplied with a nurse attached to a school.
