The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is set to launch ‘Feast Ghana’, an initiative to promote local delicacies across the country and showcase the country’s culinary diversity.
Feast Ghana is expected to be launched on Wednesday, April 17, at the Accra Tourist Information Centre (ATIC). The event is organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Asanteman Queen Mothers Association and the Public Service Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress (PSWU of TUC).
The first edition of Feast Ghana will celebrate Ghana’s rich culinary heritage under the theme ‘Flavours Of Ghana, Celebrating Ghana’s Cultural Diversity Through Food’.
Feast Ghana will then head to the Ashanti Region, on April 22, in partnership with the Asanteman Queen Mothers Association to honour the 25th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene.
In partnership with the PSWU of TUC, GTA will also host a grand celebration of Feast Ghana on May Day, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
“This final event promises to be a memorable showcase of Ghana’s local foods, emphasising unity, diversity, and the vibrant spirit of our people,” parts of the statement from GTA read.
The GTA added that attendees can look forward to experiencing traditional dishes, culinary delights, and a celebration of Ghana’s heritage throughout the journey of Feast Ghana.
“This programme aligns with the “See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana and Feel Ghana” campaign launched by GTA a few years ago,” said the CEO of GTA, Akwasi Agyeman.
He also noted that Feast Ghana represents an opportunity to showcase the culinary richness of our nation and celebrate the unity, and diversity of food and Ghanaian culture.
