A vehicle maintenance workshop for the Northern Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service has been commissioned in Tamale.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu, Northern Regional Minister, said the ultra-modern vehicle maintenance workshop for the Ghana Immigration Service was the first of its kind within the Northern Sector of the country and there was the need to maintain it.
“I want to request the GIS to put up a robust Operations and Maintenance plan that would give this modern facility an everlasting life span,” he said,
Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu expressed gratitude to the German Federal Police and the German Government for providing financial support to the facility.

DCOI Dr Prosper P. D Asima, Northern Regional Commander of GIS, noted that the facility would help increase the capacity of the GIS, to provide specialised and expert care of a wide range of vehicles, allowing for advanced diagnosis of problems accurately and efficiently.
“This really is a one-stop solution and a game changer to our mechanical problems, to provide us with quick and efficient service, and assist in the tracking of vehicles operation and the planning of maintenance. This beautiful edifice in the Region will bring substantial relief to the GIS Commands in the five Northern Regions of Ghana,” he explained.
