E-commerce and delivery platform, Glovo, is shutting down operations in Ghana from May 10, 2024.
Although an official notice has not been issued by the company, it announced its exit plans to vendors on the platform.
“Glovo has made the difficult decision to close our Ghana operations. This means that as of May 10, 10:00 pm, our customer app will no longer be available for placing orders,” the company said in its message, citing profitability issues.
Given the collapse of the Ghana office, job losses would eventually follow, although it’s yet unclear how many people were employed at its Ghana office since it launched operations about three years ago.
