Hajia4Real Pleads Guilty to $2m Romance Scam, Set to be Sentenced Later

On Wednesday, she decided to plead guilty to only one count of that indictment and according to a statement from the US Justice Department, she has agreed to pay forfeiture in the amount of $ 2 million and make restitution in the same amount.

Ghanaian socialite, Mona Faiz Montrage, widely known as Hajia4Real has pleaded guilty to her involvement in a romance scam targeting older, single American citizens.

Hajia4Real’s troubles began last year when US authorities hit her with a six-count indictment for her role in a series of romance schemes, where she was alleged to have received about $2 million in fraudulent proceeds.

The 31-year-old was first extradited from the UK in May 2023 and placed under house arrest after a US court granted her bail of over $500,000.
