President, Akufo-Addo has finally cleared the air on which aspirant he is vouching for to lead the governing New Patriotic Party into the next general election in 2024.
He says he will not support any aspirant until the party elects a presidential candidate.
Speaking on a local radio station in Kumasi as part of his tour of the Ashanti Region, President Akufo-Addo described as unwise should he vouch for a particular aspirant before the presidential primaries is over and that he will openly and fully support the one voted to lead the party in 2024.
“My duty is in two folds. One is, first of all, to hold a balance to make sure there is a level playing field for all of them (aspirants) because the decision has to be the decision of the party, and whoever the party elects as its flagbearer for 2024 that person is the one, I will support and campaign for the person to become president.”

Some notable names reported to have shown interest in leading the party are the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanteng, and Agric Minister Dr. Akoto Afriyie.
But, President Akufo Addo said he is stagnant on his position not to support anyone before the presidential elections.
