Photo-sharing social media application, Instagram, is back online after global outage affected millions of users.
In the early hours of Thursday, September 2, several users of the top photo and video sharing app shared several complaints on Twitter indicating their inability to access specific features such as sending direct messages to other users or posting stories.
Hours after the issue, the parent company of the app, Facebook, indicated through one of their spokespersons that they have worked to resolve the issue.
“Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing Instagram. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” the spokesperson said.

While the hashtag #instagramdown trended on Twitter to prompt its rival of the issue, several users created memes to make light of the issue.
