Ghanaian Afrobeats singer, Gregory Bortey Newman, better known as King Promise, has released a new studio album dubbed “True to Self.”
The singer officially announced the release of the album via a post on his Instagram page, with a caption that informed followers that the album is now accessible on all music streaming platforms.
“Beyond proud to announce my new album, True to Self is out now on all platforms!!! Big love & respect to everyone who helped work on this and brought my ideas to life. This is for you guys. Enjoy this special special body of work made with love and truth,” he wrote.
The “True to Self” album, which was officially released on June 14, 2024, boasts an impressive 12-track lineup. The album features an array of talented guest artists, including Sarkodie, Olive the Boy, Gabzy, Lasmid, Nigerian sensations Fave, Ladipoe, Shallipopi, and American singer, Fridday.
Before the album’s release, two singles accompanied by visuals were released “Perfect Story” which featured Sarkodie and Olive the Boy, along with “Continental” which featured the latest Nigerian music sensation, Shallipopi, respectively.
“True to Self” is the third studio album of King Promise, followed by “5 Star” released in 2022 and “As Promised” in 2019. King Promise was awarded the Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste at the recently concluded 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards. His hit single “Terminator” won him the Most Popular Song of the Year and Best Afropop Song of the Year.
