Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Yemi Elesho, has disclosed that Asake does not reply to messages of friends from his days as a struggling artiste.
Speaking in a recent interview with Echo Room Podcast, Elesho said friends affiliated with Asake are complaining about the singer’s inability to connect with them.
“Asake is big and a lot of his friends are complaining that he doesn’t reply their messages. If I also get to that level, I will also drop some of my friends and it’s normal to do so. He is big now and you have to understand that”, he said.
“Asake is big and alot of his friends are complaining he doesn’t reply their messages but it’s a natural thing, he can’t carry everybody along.”

Elesho, who attended the Obafemi Awolowo University with Asake claimed that the musician was accommodated by his friends throughout his four-year stay on campus. He stated that ever since Asake rose to fame, he has now abandoned those friends. However, Elosho said it was natural for Asake to cut off his old friends as he could not possibly carry all of them to the top with him.
Asake, privately known as Ahmed Ololade, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Asake signed to YBNL Nation in February 2022. That same month, he released his debut extended playlis, Ololade, which featured his breakthrough song ‘Omo Ope’ featuring Olamide and the hit single ‘Sungba.’
