Spanish giant Real Madrid has secured the services of their long-serving captain, Luka Modric, for an additional year.
Since joining the club in 2012, Modric has been a strong force behind Real Madrid’s success, with an impressive achievement of 26 trophies, including six Champions League titles and four domestic crowns.
The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner has made 534 appearances for Real Madrid, netting 39 goals.
While his starting appearances have decreased in recent times, Modric remains a key player in the team, and his contract extension is a nod to his continued influence and leadership.

Luka Modric’s continued presence at Real Madrid ensures that manager Carlo Ancelotti will have a wealth of experience to rely on as he enters his 13th season at the helm.
Ancelotti has made additional signings to the squad, including Kylian Mbappe from Paris St-Germain and the talented teenager Endrick from Palmeiras
The experienced midfielder, who started in all three of Croatia’s matches at Euro 2024, was out of contract at the end of June 2024 but has now committed to a one-year extension. He made 46 appearances for Real Madrid in the 2023-24 season, starting 23 of them.
