Maame Dokono to celebrate 6 Decades in acting on Sept. 7

The grand celebration to culminate her 60 years in acting, slated for September 7, 2024, will include a street feeding project that will feed approximately 20,000 people on the streets, as well as a medical outreach program in Accra for market women and children.

Veteran Ghanaian actress, Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, is set to celebrate 60 years in the film industry on September 7, 2024.

As part of the celebration, the esteemed actress held a press launch at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra on July 30, 2024, to announce her forthcoming memoir titled, “Unforgettable” which would be released on Aug 7, 2024.

The memoir will cover various aspects of her life, including her experiences in the movie industry and personal stories about her family, her humble beginnings, and her infamous political endeavors.

Maame Dokono rose to fame after hosting the popular kids’ television show “By The Fire Side” on GTV. She also starred in several films, including “Matters Of The Heart”(1993), ‘Kwaku Ananse’ (2013), “Expectations”(1999), “I Surrender” (1998), “Jewels”(1999), and “John and John” (2017).

She also served as a scriptwriter for one of the legendary Ghanaian television series of all time, Osofo Dadzie.
