The family of Mawuena Trebah has officially announced her death, asking the public to grant them the utmost privacy while they grieve.
Mrs. Trebah, sister to late media icon Komla Dumor passed away on Wednesday, Apri 10, after a recent period of illness, a family statement said.
Like veteran journalist, Komla Dumor, Mawuena was a pacesetter in many areas, as she became the first woman Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), from 2013 to 2017.
Before that GNPC appointment, she was the Founding Director and Chief Business Strategist of Inspire Africa Consult Limited, a business strategy-consulting firm.

She also worked with AngloGold Ashanti, Newmont Corporation & MTN Ghana in various communication roles.
In politics, she worked previously as the deputy spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign in 2020 and worked closely with his running mate Prof Naana Opoku Agyemang Jane.
She’s survived by her husband, Flt LT Divine Trebah, their daughter Katherine Joy, her father Prof Dumor, and her brother Dr Korshie Dumor.
